Meet the Yoga Instructors

Aparna

Aparna is a RYT200 certified passionate and dedicated yoga teacher. Her approach to yoga is to make it simultaneously accessible, challenging and transformative to all clients both as a physical practice as well as a holistic discipline. She loves teaching multiple styles of yoga including Power, Restorative, Yin and Stretch. Pranayama and yoga philosophy is an integral part of her classes and is woven seamlessly into the practice. She believes that yoga is a holistic practice that serves both the mind and the body and can be made accessible to everyone. She infuses her classes with creativity, fun and laughter and loves her yoga community.

Donna

Donna discovered yoga in her 20s while living in Germany and quickly fell in love with the sense of well-being and community it brought into her life. While pursuing her PhD, she attended a workshop exploring the connection between yoga, education, and brain development, which inspired her to deepen her studies and embrace yoga as a lifestyle. Over the years, Donna expanded her training to include Mat Pilates through Balanced Body, Yoga Teacher Training, Children’s Yoga, Ayurveda, Aerial Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Meditation. She believes yoga is for everyone, regardless of experience, and is passionate about helping students connect mind and body through movement and breath. Her classes feature joyful flows, targeted stretching, breathwork, myofascial release, and an occasional splash of power core for fun.

Emilie

Emilie's journey into Yoga and Ayurveda began in 2008 when she felt an immediate connection after her first class, knowing yoga would become an integral part of her life. As a former elementary teacher, her passion for sharing knowledge naturally led her to complete her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certification in 2010 and a 300-hour vinyasa training with Rolf Gates in 2018. Skilled in teaching everything from gentle to advanced vinyasa flow, Emilie aims to create a welcoming space where students feel love, acceptance, and joy. Emphasizing alignment, breath, and mindful movement—infused with humor and creativity—She believe yoga should be fun and accessible to everyone. Drawing from her own transformative experiences, she guide students in discovering their most joyful selves.

Joan

Joan began practicing Hatha yoga in 1998, discovering a passion for building strength, flexibility, and mindfulness through consistent study and practice. Inspired by the physical and emotional benefits of yoga, she pursued teacher training in 2001, deepening her understanding of yoga philosophy, movement, and wellness. In 2006, Joan completed Yoga Alliance training, further expanding her knowledge and professional credentials. Over the years, she continued taking additional classes and workshops, developing a teaching style focused on wellness, healthy aging, and the lifelong benefits of yoga. Through her dedication and experience, Joan has helped others improve balance, mobility, and overall well-being while encouraging a mindful approach to aging gracefully.

Joanna

Joanna is an RN, BSN, RYT500, and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach with a passion for helping others live healthier, more balanced lives. A lifelong runner and wellness advocate, she was originally drawn to yoga for the flexibility, balance, and strength it provides, and soon discovered its powerful benefits for overall wellbeing — including relief from chronic neck pain. With her background in nursing, Joanna deeply values the physical and mental health benefits of yoga, including relaxation, focus, and longevity. She strives to make her classes accessible, practical, and encouraging for all levels and body types. Her goal is for every student to leave class feeling relaxed, uplifted, and empowered.

Julie

Julie’s yoga journey began after a back injury led her to the mat—and she never stopped. Experiencing firsthand the physical and emotional benefits of yoga inspired her to become a 500RYT. Her journey sparked a deeper interest in meditation, journaling, mindfulness, and energy work, leading her to become a Mindfulness Meditation Instructor and Usui Reiki Master. She later expanded her wellness education through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the Institute for Functional Medicine. With a passion for empowering others to feel their best, Julie founded Blooming with Balance in 2016, where she offered yoga, mindfulness meditation, Reiki, wellness coaching, and programs focused on nutrition, weight loss, stress reduction, and emotional well-being. Julie believes yoga is for everyone, regardless of age or experience, and hopes each student leaves the mat feeling stronger, calmer, more balanced, and more connected to themselves.

Kim

RYT 200 Certified Yoga Instructor Aerial Yoga Certified Instructor Usui Reiki Master Kim is originally from Arlington, Virginia and moved to Mooresville, NC in 2014 with her husband Pat, 3 sons and a pack of labs. She was in search of her true passion in life and felt yoga was calling. She signed up for yoga teacher training and never looked back, it became her passion. She is now devoted to living her yoga on and off the mat, and she hopes to inspire her students to do the same. Her classes will infuse this through mindful meditations, breath focused flows, reiki infused adjustments and inspirational reflections. Her hope is that each student leaves class feeling inner strength, peace and excited to live their authentic life.

Silia

Silia took her first yoga class in 2003, but over the last five years her practice has become a steadier, more meaningful part of her life. During times of change and uncertainty, her mat became a place of grounding, presence, and reconnection. This experience eventually led her to complete her yoga teacher training at Asheville Yoga Center, a transformational step in deepening both her personal practice and her desire to share yoga with others. Through breath-led movement, somatic exploration, intentional music, and grounded breathwork, Silia invites students to feel more at home in themselves while also experiencing the shared energy of practicing in community. Her classes often move from quiet awareness into joyful flow, then gradually return to stillness, spaciousness, and ease. She hopes students leave her classes with a little more presence, compassion, and connection to themselves and others.
