Ahlara owner, Lynne Wiggins, whose passion for foreign travel has taken her to various locations around the world, has a special affection for the people of Nepal.
Over the years, Lynne has led tour groups to the area and has made many friends there. Members of her tour groups have donated funds to create a water source for the village of Nambar, provide electricity and build a school.
In 2014, Lynne created a non-profit organization titled Himalayan Hands with the goal of empowering the Himalayan people by providing educational opportunities, medical services and financial support when needed.
In 2005, Nepal experienced a devastating earthquake and the residents there suffered substantially from lack of food, water and medical supplies. In many instances homes and schools were destroyed.
The need for assistance will be on-going as the people of Nepal work tirelessly to rebuild their villages and care for their people. Your donation to Himalayan Hands can make a difference.
